Even the most fervent dog lover can find it difficult to concentrate on his work when his pet’s barking reaches intolerable levels. If you have neighbors nearby they can probably hear your dog barking or howling all night too and this is just not fair. Among the many responsibilities of dog owners, the training of a dog to avoid late night barking is one of their most important ones.

Dogs bark and that is a fact but there are things you can do to teach your dog not to bark all the time. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money, or don’t have the time for every day training, then a bark dog collar is probably your best choice.

Your Alternatives

If you are interested in purchasing a bark dog collar, first you will need to make up your mind on which one you want. For example, there is the shock collar, which is frowned upon by some dog owners. This collar uses an electric shock that actually shocks your dog when they bark. These collars are not painful to the dog, yet many dog owners dislike the idea of giving their dogs any type of electrical discharge, no matter how small it may be.

If you would prefer a more humane way of training your dog to stop barking you could try the citronella anti bark dog collar. The principle of the citronella collar is the same as the principle of the shock collar, only that instead of electrical shocks, this collar uses a small spray of citronella smell. The spray is totally painless, and distracts the dog from the object or person that it was barking at, and focuses its attention on the smell.

The smell is very intense, and by nature, dogs will try to find out what’s going on. Over time they are going to realize that every time they bark the spray comes out and this is going to eventually stop them from barking when they are wearing the collar. Keep in mind that the anti bark dog collar will be programmed so that you can turn them off when you are going to bed at night if you want the dog to be able to alert you of burglars.

A guard dog will bark at any movement or noise that it’s not familiar with or that seems out of place in the house that it’s defending; and without a collar that hampers the barking, the dog will continue to bark at it, scaring the stranger away and waking you up.

The bark dog collar is really effective and definitely cheaper than anti bark training at a dog school.
